I’m still not sure I’m completely sold on this effort although it was a nice addition to the ever expanding world of Star Wars and served its purpose in opening the door for the “Clone Wars” animated television series. I guess the plot of the movie seemed a bit too over the top for me. I really didn’t think it was necessary to give Anakin Skywalker his own Padawan when such a scenario doesn’t fit at all into The Revenge of the Sith. I would’ve liked to see a more serious threat in the form of the Separatists forces, but was ultimately satisfied with the film as a whole. And in the end I think that this movie achieved its sole purpose…opening the door for George Lucas’ new animated series and attracting that younger fan base into the fold so to speak. Lucas has again, much like the introduction of the Ewoks, ensured that many more years of future Star Wars fans will be around to see hopefully many more years of Star Wars excitement. And you know that can’t be bad! Archive Note: while we don't know how they plan to resolve Ashoka in relation to Revenge of The Sith, I find it interesting and highly entertaining to watch Anakin and Ashoka interact. I suppose it's a cross between liking her personality and getting to see more of Anakin when he's not spouting cheesy love lines like he did in Attack of The Clones. She is fast becoming one of my favorite characters. |
