"A Good Read" or "I could Have Done Without All Those Bugs"?
I will probably draw the ire of my fellow Jedi Archive Crew Members when I say this but these books drive me crazy! I mean, who needs Jedi fighting all those bugs...Really! I felt like I was reading Starship Troopers except that the soldiers were now given lightsabers to battle the bugs. These three books could be completely removed from Star Wars literature and no one would really know the difference. But wait...
Was it not this book series that established Alema Rar as the crazy Twi'lek we know and love in the Legacy of the Force book series? So wouldn't the removal of this series affect the storyline of perhaps the best Star Wars book series ever. The Legacy of the Force? Heck no! Just make Alema go crazy in some other "book". The Star Wars universe didn't need three crappy books to build up Alema Rar's character. I'd rather read one crazy book about bugs than three books that tied up the Star Wars universe and kept the real fans waiting for something more worthy of being written. And please...were you really just dying to hear Zekk and Jaina annoyingly linked to a hive mind, talking like the first special needs Jedi? Uh...no!!! The only redeemable quality found in this series was the further demonstration of how powerful Luke Skywalker has become and a deeper analysis of the mental psyche of the crazed Alema Rar.
Perhaps this column topic will be discussed further in a book review but for now it will simply be classified as: "I could have done without all those bugs!"
CHOOSE THEIR LEGACY:
Uh...anyone have any Raid?
Oh, and I should know...
