Do I really even need to write a forum topic about this? I mean, would any real Star Wars fan disagree with me regarding the fact that this awesome Bounty Hunter only got like 3 to 4 seconds of screen time (if that much). What? Oh, I'm sorry, the other Jedi Archive Crew Members tell me we need some more forum topics to discuss. But once again, I say, "What is there to discuss?"
Now, I don't want to seem like a hypocrite given the fact that we've spoken so passionately about not being so critical of George Lucas and his decisions. Star Wars is, after all, his brainchild and not mine. However, the "forum" hereat the Archive was designed so that we as Star Wars fans can throw our two cents regarding issues just like this. Does it really matter? Who knows?
The opinion of the Archive is that Aurra Sing should have been given a slightly larger role to the extent that she even has an appearance in Episodes II and III. Our understanding is that Aurra Sing brings to the Prequel Era exactly what Boba Fett brought to the Saga Era...maximum amount of interest with a very small amount of screen time. Is that not what Boba Fett has done? Yet Boba Fett was given a speaking role and multiple appearances in not simply one movie. Why George, why? A nice little speaking part with a potential employer or perhaps a sneaky Aurra Sing lurking in the shadows on Coruscant during Episode II or III would've been nice.
I will admit that a great job has been done on capitalizing on the ever so brief appearance of Sing. Mere seconds of screen time have turned this mysterious bounty hunter into a possible franchise player in th expanded universe. Sing even made an appearance in the Legacy of the Force book series, further adding to the mystery surrounding her age and origins.
DID AURRA SING DESERVE MORE SCREEN TIME?
Did you not hear a word I said? Of course, she did deserve more screen time!
Oh, and I should know...
Because,
