How did George Lucas ensure that his franchise would remain in the hearts and minds of the fans (especially the young ones)?  Lucas introduced the whole world to the Ewoks!  Some of the more grown up fans didn’t care for this, but in a sense Lucas hooked a whole new generation into his Star Wars fan base.  The creativity and vision found in this film again seems unparalleled to this very day.  The detail that was given to the opening scenes in Jabba’s Palace along was jaw dropping!  The Sarlaac and the Rancor were far cries from the creature our heroes fought in the trash compactor in A New Hope.  And I believe Lucas set a new standard in terms of space battles when he blew up the second Death Star.  Lastly, the final confrontation between Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker is worth watching over and over again…for the world would finally meet Anakin Skywalker.
