Star Wars: The Phantom Menace

The film that had fans waiting outside theaters for days on end was in this archive member’s opinion well worth the wait!  The whole world wanted to see this boy who would become Vader…while seeing the Old Republic as it was when Obi-Wan was in his youth was a dream come true for many fans.  A Star Wars universe (and movie for that matter) with more than simply one Jedi was more than I could’ve hoped for.  Fans weren’t sure what to make of this whole midi-chlorian thing when it was introduced in this film, however; that was one minor detail I was more than willing to overlook. And how better to introduce the world to the Sith than with the awe inspiring menace known as Darth Maul, apprentice to Darth Sidious.  Seeing Palpatine as a Senator placing himself in a position for his eventual dominance was also a treat.  The battle droids, the Gungans, Neomoidians, and even Jar Jar Binks introduced the fan base to a whole new side of the Star Wars universe we’d never seen before.
